Robert Rauschenberg, Samarkand Stitches #5, (from the Samarkand Stitches series)
Here is a collage by an artist called Robert Rauschenberg who used collage as his way of expressing his ideas.  We are focusing on collage just now and  from a course book I  read that "collage is the most revolutionary formal innovation in artistic representation to occur in our Twentieth Century" (Gregory L. Umner 1983)
While in Glasgow this week I was looking out for examples of collage in advertising however could not find any. However I do see the great potential of collage in my own art development and interests.  I also am thinking about how to use collages in the classroom and already have seen some work using collage in a school I work in.. How can I develop this medium further in my own practice?
