Hello again! Especially hello to Evans! Today I was able to take pictures of my art work and then upload it to Dropbox. This all had to be activated by Gordon and Michael - both technical geeks and proud of it! Then I am able to download these images and any other photos I take on my I phone.
I am now going to download the images just to show you how easy it is to put your work online. When I look at the image I realise that you have to use the photo editing software on your phone as best you can because once the image is uploaded you cannot change it!

Hello my faithful followers - especially Evans who has reminded me that I need to post more of my art on line.. Well my dilemma was for the last few months ; as far as my art work goes, is that I have evolved into doing the type of art I really enjoy.  It is called "drawing" which was always my favourite way of expressing myself. This was undoubtedly due to the influence of my cartooning papa who used pen and ink in his job as a commercial artist.
A good example of his work is found in the Molly Weir's cookbook which he illustrated. I recently bought a copy and was amazed at the fact that his name was in very small print. I remember having the cook book in our house in the 70's and only now realise the comic genius that he was. However I also heard the story that he did not get any royalties from the illustrations -just a one off payment. So sad!
Well my papa had the opportunity to go to London and do more with his talent but the family wanted to stay in Scotland. He worked for the Daily Record and Ayrshire Post and I am so proud of my links to writing and commercial art. My family always told me to have something to fall back on in life. This meant I should get a real job to pay my way. Well I have done teaching for almost twenty years and I really enjoy it and get well paid too!!
However my love of art keeps on rearing its ugly head in funny ways! For example I was sitting in a staffroom during the first week of term after the Christmas holidays and pulled a delicious apple out of my bag and dug my teeth into it!! Inside my head a speech bubble popped up and said -" I would much rather be eating chocolate ! " A line drawing then appeared in my mind and I went home and did the cartoon!! The whole image did give me a laugh and I hope you will like it too!
The whole cartoon thing kept on inspiring me and then there was the the solidarity shown to the French cartoonists and the images I saw on the internet began to remind me of how cartoons can get across a message in one picture.
We recently subscribed to the Pheonix magazine and I really like the mix of bright colours and well drawn images.
So I am evolving into someone who likes telling a story or something funny in the form of a drawing. I suppose it is true what they say- "the apple does not fall far from the tree"! That means that your children and grandchildren will usually have the same types of interests and talents that you have.
So I am happy to be able to communicate using art and language! So I have to say thanks to Gordon in advance as my pictures should be on line soon!! Here is one image based around my previous obsession of chocolate. Luckily I managed to give up chocolate for Lent as my other friends had done so. I have not eaten chocolate for about eight weeks and feel much better for it.
