The clocks went back and this officially for me marks the start of the winter. So I have  produced a video to cheer you up.  I noticed the amazing variety of dull colours of clouds now, and there seems to be a lot more dark grey clouds in the sky instead of the lovely white ones we have seen of late.

I love all the festivals we have now and think they were devised by our ancestors to cheer us up and boost our spirits during these dull days. Halloween is a great chance to let your creativity run riot. My grandfather the cartoonist used to draw giant spiders and ghosts and a big black cat  for us to put up on our front room wall. All the local children loved to see this and it made the room look great. I will draw some spooky things for my class this week as it would be fun for all and shows art in action!
We are also going to decorate paper plates with orange tissue paper to make pumpkins faces to take home to scare away the bad spirits!!
Then in the following  week we will create firework pictures using maybe wax resist or painting with a golf ball. Then we can start to prepare some items for Christmas such as decorating pine cones with silver and glitter to make baubles or to cover the pine cones in a cinnamon scent.. These items can be sold at the Christmas Fayre. I know it is important to build up enterprising skills as this helps to grow creativity and independence. So there are plenty of opportunities to make art over the next few weeks. I will post pictures of our success. Here is a link to my latest You Tube Video.
