I have had a great week and have had lots of opportunities to make art while working as a supply teacher. For example some pupils were colouring in some lovely butterflies and this was teaching about symmetry. Another class at Nursery level were sticking on paper petals to make a flower and while they did this they were naming the colours and counting the number of petals. My favourite art activity this week was helping a group to paint a sunset!  I love seeing sunsets and it was great to see how much the children could do using their memory and plenty of bright glittery paint.  Some manged to paint lovely sun and they all loved using the colours to paint with. We also painted paper plates in bright colours and then cut them into a ball shape to celebrate the start of the World Cup today. My son bought two bright new footballs and these seem to reflect the joy of the whole football activity.  However I am not keen on football and will be out doing the garden tonight looking at the joys of nature - including the sunset.

It is handy to be able to use any media to make images and the more materials you use the more your skills increase and the more chance you have of making an image you are pleased with.
This image was inspired by yet another academic image to do with "The water cycle".
The images on the internet to do with science are amazing. You just google it - nowadays instead of having to go to a library and borrow a book.
This image is called precipitation - a fancy academic word to do with rainfall - something we can all relate to in Scotland.
