When I was at Art college I was very interested in using the bright colours of sweets when painting my pictures. I was definitely influenced by the artist teachers who were there. Mr Cadenhead was a landscape painter and used to go up mountains with his canvases and paints and sit for a day painting. Mr Grant Clifford also painted and depicted in a bright way the symbols of society in his large paintings. Another artist used sculpture and photography to record images.
Recently I watched Johnnie Dep in Alice In Wonderland and noticed he had a scarf with all-sorts on it and it looked great. This morning then is a throwback to what used to help my creativity flow - images of sweets.
I did this sketch today to show how easy it is to change the background in an image. I suppose these sketches could be used to make fabric items such as cushions or even handbags. Anya Hindmarch's handbag designers are influenced by the bright sweet wrappers of Qualiy Street!

Excellent pictures. :)
