This week I decided to go on a green juice fast.  So we bought a juicer from ASDA and bought all of the veg needed to make a decent juice.  This consisted of eleven stalks of celery, 2 small pieces of ginger five apples, a packet of green leaves and a lemon! It worked and I am into day 4 and have gone off chocolate and have more energy than before.
One of the themes I was interested in at art college was health and I enjoyed using the colours and concept of sweets to try and make people think about what they were eating.  This theme has crept back into my life now.
I listened to a lecture yesterday about an artist I have never heard of and was amazed by his work,  and feel that my work is going in a similar direction.  Just look him up on google under - " First transvestite to win Turner prize!" I was remembering another artist who I learned about on the course and liked his Public Information way of using his art.  Also I thought more about how to portray information to others in a clear way.  I guess that is the graphic designer in me.
We had a fright this week as we realized that we had dangerous spiders in the house and outside.  So it would be useful to make a poster warning people about public enemy number one i,e the false widow spider to raise awareness of the danger.    Then I thought well I could take this approach with my detox juice and  parody this with cola- hence the pictures just made and still in a raw form.  However I could take these images further by painting them or making a print. Then I thought I could do some public information posters inspired by the old government war posters to do with the theme of health.

The first image was done with a small amount of  text in it - this was done using Paint a programme found on most computers.  The second image was done on Artrage - to show the importance of text and what you can do to enhance it.  I hope to use this type of approach in my next project !
