This weather is great and it does affect me so much.  I understand why Van Gogh was interested in skies because he had seasonally affected disorder.  He loved the warm weather and seemed to look to the dark skies for some light. Maybe that is why his work is based on so many bright colours.
My life started out in caravan .  My parents lived in a temporary caravan in the back garden of my grandparents and I was given the converted toilet as my bedroom.  To this day I hate confined spaces and darkness.  On awaking each morning I would see Van Gogh's sunflowers and it was a solace to me age one!
I really appreciated moving away from that small confined space to a lovely house in Prestwick which had a lovely garden.  My father was a keen gardener and always grew dahlias hence the reason I like bright colours. My life as a budding artist has had a few influences and these are some I wanted to share with you.
Here is an image I gathered this week and wanted to make it more topical by adding in the TARDIS!!!
#50th Anniversary Doctor Who --- yes art should reflect society. Art is exciting when it begins to influence society too !
This Friday is when I graduate from the artist teachers course.  I am so glad I did this course as it has helped me develop my art skills and has boosted my confidence and helped me be more aware of how to use art in the curriculum. Doing this course has increased my awareness of the influence and different facets of art and how best to teach it.

This image was a progression from some other digital sketches which I will also post here. It's amazing to think that a teacher can put work online and then retrieve this work and have it in the classroom on the whiteboard the next day.
